Ο Αιγυπτιώτης Ελληνισμός τίμησε σήμερα τους αγώνες του Έθνους μας, στην επέτειο του «ΟΧΙ».
Στο Κάιρο, στον Κοινοτικό μεγαλόπρεπο ναό των Αγίων Κωνσταντίνου και Ελένης, ενώπιον όλης της παροικίας, ο Έλληνας Πρέσβης στην Αίγυπτο κ. Μιχαήλ Χρήστος Διάμεσης έδωσε το στίγμα της ημέρας, αμέσως μετά την ανάγνωση του μηνύματος του Υφυπουργού Εξωτερικών κ. Ιωάννη Αμανατίδη:

Την 30η Οκτωβρίου 2016 ο Θεοφιλέστατος Επίσκοπος Μπραζαβίλ και Γκαμπόν κ.Παντελεήμων ετέλεσε την Θεία Λειτουργία στον Ιερό Ενοριακό Ναό Αναστάσεως του Κυρίου Μπραζαβίλ, κατά την διάρκεια της οποίας χειροτόνησε εις Διάκονον τον κ.Amour Jordach Ndzebe, ο οποίος έλαβε το όνομα Τιμόθεος προς τιμήν του μακαριστού Μητροπολίτου Κεντρώας Αφρικής κυρού Τιμοθέου (+2004).
Κατά την χειροτονία, η οποία είναι η δεύτερη που τελείται στην πρωτεύουσα της Δημοκρατίας του Κονγκό κατά την υπερτρ...ιακονταετή ιστορική παρουσία της Ορθοδοξίας στη χώρα, ο Επίσκοπος ανεφέρθη στην σημασία και την τεράστια ευθύνη της διακονίας του ιερού Θυσιαστηρίου και των πιστών εν πνεύματι θυσιαστικής ταπεινώσεως, αγάπης και συνέσεως. Επίσης, έδωσε πατρικές συμβουλές και προτροπές προς τον νέο κληρικό, μεταφέρων και την αγάπη του Μακαριωτάτου Πάπα και Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας κ.κ.Θεοδώρου Β’, με την ευλογία του Οποίου ετελέσθη η χειροτονία σύμφωνα με την εκκλησιαστική τάξη του πρεσβυγενούς Πατριαρχικού Θρόνου του Αγίου Μάρκου.

Προ του πέρατος της Ευχαριστιακής Συνάξεως ο Θεοφιλέστατος ετίμησε διά της απονομής τιμητικής πλακέττας τον επί τριάντα συναπτά έτη διατελέσαντα Πρόεδρο της Ενοριακής Επιτροπής Μπραζαβίλ κ.Seraphin Bhalat, Σύμβουλο του Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας του Κονγκό, Γενικό Διευθυντή του Λιμένος Pointe-Noire και Μέλος του Επισκοπικού Συμβουλίου, στον οποίο απένειμε τον τίτλο του επιτίμου Προέδρου της ως άνω Ενοριακής Επιτροπής.
Τις πνευματικές και λειτουργικές εκδηλώσεις κατέκλεισε ο νυν Πρόεδρος της Ενοριακής Επιτροπής του Ναού, κ.Adrien Hossie, o οποίος εξέφρασε την χαρά των πιστών και την ευγνωμοσύνη τους προς τον Ποιμενάρχη τους για την χειροτονία του νέου κληρικού και την εν γένει πνευματική προαγωγή της τοπικής Εκκλησίας.
Παρέστησαν προσευχητικώς η Εξοχ. κα.Emilienne Raoul, τέως Υπουργός Κοινωνικών Υποθέσεων του Κονγκό, ο Εντιμ. κ. Νικόλαος Περρής, Γενικός Πρόξενος της Ελλάδος στο Κονγκό μετά της Εριτίμου συζύγου του, εκπρόσωποι του Συμβουλίου Εκκλησιών του Κονγκό, εκπρόσωποι των αρχών της πόλεως και πλήθος πιστών.

ΛΑΜΠΡΗ ΕΚΑΤΟΝΤΑΕΤΗΡΙΔΑ ΙΕΡΟΥ ΝΑΟΥ ΥΠΕΡΑΓΙΑΣ ΘΕΟΤΟΚΟΥ ΗΛΙΟΥΠΟΛΕΩΣ ΚΑΪΡΟΥ
Το Σάββατο 29 και την Κυριακὴ 30 Οκτωβρίου 2016 με ιδιαίτερη λαμπρότητα εορτάσθηκε η επέτειος των 100 χρόνων απὸ την ημέρα των εγκαινίων του Ιεροὺ Ναοὺ Υπεραγίας Θεοτόκου Ηλιουπόλεως Καΐρου, τον οποίον εγκαινίασε το 1916 ο Μητροπολίτης Μέμφιδος Νεκτάριος, επὶ Πατριαρχείας του Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας Φωτίου.
Η Α.Θ.Μ. ο Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ. Θεόδωρος Β΄, εχοροστάτησε κατά τόν Μέγαν Πατριαρχικὸν Εσπερινόν, που με ιδιαίτερη λαμπρότητα ετελέσθη το Σάββατο το απόγευμα στον ως άνω εορτάζοντα ναό, παρουσία πλήθους πιστών, μετὰ το πέρας του οποίου ακολούθησε μουσικὴ βραδιὰ με Κλασσικὴ καὶ Αραβικὴ Μουσική.
Την κυριώνυμο ημέρα η Α.Θ.Μ. ο Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ. Θεόδωρος Β΄, εχοροστάτησε κατά τόν Όρθρον και προέστη της Πατριαρχικής Θείας Λειτουργίας, συλλειτουργούντων των Σεβασμιωτάτων Μητροπολιτὼν Ερμουπόλεως κ. Νικολάου, Μέμφιδος κ. Νικοδήμου, Πηλουσίου κ. Νήφωνος και του Θεοφιλεστάτου Επισκόπου Ναυκράτιδος κ. Μελετίου, του Εξάρχου του Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας Πρωτοπρ. Βίκτωρος Κουλάνγκα, παρόντων, της Γενικὴς Προξένου της Ελλάδος στο Κάϊρο κ. Λαμπρινὴς Κομίνη, του επιτετραμένου της Κυπριακής πρεσβείας, του Προέδρου της Ελληνικὴς Κοινότητος Καΐρου κ. Χρήστου Καβαλή, του Προέδρου της Αραβοφώνου Κοινότητος Καΐρου κ. Robert Hoshny, της Μεγάλης Ευεργέτιδος του Ναοὺ κ. Στέλλας Κυριάζη και των συλλόγων και πολιτιστικὼν φορέων της Αιγυπτιακὴς Πρωτευούσης.
Κατὰ τον εμπνευσμένο λόγο του ο Μακαριώτατος, εδώρησε στον εορτάζοντα Ιερὸ Ναὸ ένα ζευγάρι ασημένια κηροπήγια, ευχόμενος το φως των κεριὼν τους, ποτὲ να μην σβήσει αλλὰ να σκορπίζει χαρὰ και ελπίδα στις ψυχὲς των Ορθοδόξων και να χαρίζει κάθε αγαθὸ στην ζωή τους. Με ιδιαίτερη συγκίνηση ευχαρίστησε τον οικείο Μητροπολίτη Μέμφιδος κ. Νικόδημο για τις άοκνες προσπάθειές του για τον εξωραϊσμὸ του Ναοὺ καθὼς και τον Προϊστάμενο του Ιεροὺ Ναοὺ Αρχιμ. Μιχαὴλ Ζάκι για την φροντίδα του προς την Νεολαία του Καΐρου, στον οποίο και εχάρισε χρυσοκέντητο επιγονάτιο.
Στο τέλος της προσφωνήσεώς του, η Α.Θ.Μ. περιεκόσμησε τον Μητροπολίτην Μέμφιδος κ. Νικόδημον με το παράσημο του Ανωτέρου Ταξιάρχη Σάββα του Ηγιασμένου, επ’ ευκαιρίᾳ της συμπληρώσεως Δεκαετίας απὸ της εις Επίσκοπον Χειροτονίας του, χαρίζοντάς του ασημένιο εγκόλπιο. Ένδακρυς ο Μακαριώτατος, απευθυνόμενος στον Σεβασμιώτατο Μητροπολίτην Μέμφιδος, έδειξε τα χέρια του, τα ίδια χέρια που έθεσε επὶ της κεφαλὴς του την ημέρα της χειροτονίας του, και τα οποία, όπως χαρακτηριστικὰ είπε «παιδί μου Νικόδημε, δεν τα πρόδωσες ποτέ, δεν απογοήτευσες ποτὲ την πατρική μου καρδιά, φάνηκες άξιος της εμπιστοσύνης που σου έδειξα, έδειξες ευγνωμοσύνη και αφοσίωση σαν υιὸς προς πατέρα και με την τιμιότητά σου, την ειλικρίνεια και ανιδιοτέλειά σου ποτὲ δεν υπέκυψες σε κανένα πειρασμὸ να προδώσεις την εμπιστοσύνη μου στο ευθυνοφόρο αξίωμα του Πατριαρχικοὺ Επιτρόπου Καΐρου που σου ανέθεσα. Γι αυτὸ και σήμερα αυτὰ τα χέρια σου αποδίδουν τον δίκαιο έπαινο της Εκκλησίας των Αλεξανδρέων, διότι στάθηκες ως αφοσιωμένο παιδὶ κοντά μου ὄχι μόνο ως Πατριάρχη, αλλὰ και στα δύσκολα χρόνια της κοινὴς διακονίας μας στην Ιεραποστολὴ της Ζιμπάμπουε».
Συγκινημένος ο Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης Μέμφιδος κ. Νικόδημος αλλὰ και ο Προϊστάμενος του Ναοὺ π. Μιχαὴλ και όλο το εκκλησίασμα ευχαρίστησαν τον Μακαριώτατο για τα θερμά λόγια και την αγάπη του, πολυχρονίζοντες τον Πατριάρχη και ευχόμενοι ο Θεὸς να στερεώνει την Εκκλησία Του, ενώ, σύσσωμο το Εκκλησιαστικό Συμβούλιο μαζί με τον οικείο Ποιμενάρχη προσέφερε στον Μακαριώτατο πολύτιμο πατριαρχικό εγκόλπιο εις ανάμνηση του σπουδαίου γεγονότος.
Μετὰ το πέρας της Θείας Λειτουργίας παρετέθη Δεξίωση και επίσημο γεύμα απο το Εκκλησιαστικὸ Συμβούλιο του εορτάζοντος Ιεροὺ Ναού.

THE FEAST OF ST DIMITRIOS IN POINTE-NOIRE
The memory of the Great Martyr Saint Dimitrios the Myroblete, Patron Saint and Protector of the local Church of the Congo, was celebrated on Wednesday 26th October 2016 at the temporary Holy Cathedral of the same name in Pointe-Noire.
His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon conducgted the Divine Liturgy with the participation of the Reverend Maximos Oumba, Hierarchal Vicar General of the Holy Diocese and Parish Priest of the celebrating Church and Reverend Fr. Paul Diafouka, Parish Priest of the Holy Church of St Irene in Dolisie. He also preached the homily, speaking of the example of the unshakable faith of the Great Martyr and Saint.
The Liturgical hymns were sung by choirs from the Parishes of St Dimitrios and St Fotini in Pointe-Noire. A festive gathering followed for the faithful in the grounds, in front of the Church.
A pleasant surprise was the kind visit by their Eminences the Roman Catholic Bishops of Pointe Noire and Dolisie Messrs. Miguel and Bienvenu, who voluntarily came to the Holy Diocese to convey their wishes for the feast of St Dimitrios.

LA FETE DE ST. DEMETRIOS A POINTE-NOIRE
La mémoire sacrée de Saint-Martyr Démétrios le Myrrhoblite, Patron et Protecteur de l'Eglise locale du Congo, a été célébrée Mercredi le 26 Octobre 2016, en la Sainte Cathédrale temporaire de Pointe-Noire, qui porte son nom.
Sa Grâce l’Évêque du Congo-Brazzaville et Gabon Mgr. Panteleimon a celebre la Messe avec la participation du Révérend Archiprêtre p. Maxime Oumba, Vicaire Général Episcopal et Curé du Temple célébrant ainsi que du Révérend p. Paul Diafouka, Curé de l'église Sainte Irène de Dolisie. L’Evêque a également prêché la Parole de Dieu en se référant à l'exemple de foi inébranlable du Saint Martyr.
Les hymnes liturgiques ont été scandées par les chorales des Paroisses St. Démétrios et Ste. Photinie Pointe-Noire. Il y a eu dans la suite un rassemblement festif des fidèles, dans l'espace ouvert devant l'église et l'Evêché.
Une agréable surprise a été la visite courtoise de leurs Eminences Evêques Catholiques de Pointe-Noire et de Dolisie, Messeigneurs Miguel et Bienvenu, qui sont venus volontairement au Saint Evêché pour soumettre leurs vœux à l’ occasion de la fête de St. Démétrios.

One of the spiritual roles of our Church is “sharing in our anguish and existential problems, taking upon herself — as the Lord did — our suffering and wounds, which are caused by evil in the world and, like the Good Samaritan, pouring oil and wine upon our wounds through words of patience and comfort (Romans 15:4; Hebrews 13:22), and through love in practice.”
During the last 20 years, I have been involved in mission in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, and Mozambique. My personal testimony is that the hunger and poverty in such places is a result of our sins and selfishness. We have failed to use and share the goods of our planet in a fair way as a common gift of God for all of humanity. The number one victims of our sins are the suffering children who die because we have failed to give to them what they need to save their lives.
For the first time in over 1,000 years, many of our Orthodox churches came together at the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church in Crete, Greece recently. Τhe following are excerpts from the final resolutions, adopted by the churches, that emphasize peace and justice in addressing the witness of love and service relative to hunger and poverty.
The centrality of peace and justice informs the Orthodox churches in fulfilling her salvific mission in the world (Ephesians 6:15, Colossians 1:20, Ephesians 2:17, and Ephesians 2:14). Therefore, the Orthodox churches actively care for all people in need, including the hungry, the poor, the sick, the disabled, the elderly, the persecuted, those in captivity and prison, the homeless, the orphans, the victims of destruction and military conflict, those affected by human trafficking and modern forms of slavery. The Orthodox Church’s efforts to confront destitution and social injustice are an expression of her faith and the service to the Lord, who identifies Himself with every person and especially with those in need (Matthew 25:40).
Competition and enmity in the world introduce injustice and inequitable access among individuals and peoples to the resources of divine creation. They deprive millions of people of fundamental goods and lead to the degradation of the human person; they incite mass migrations of populations, and they engender ethnic, religious, and social conflicts, which threaten the internal cohesion of communities. Therefore, the Church cannot remain indifferent before economic conditions that negatively impact humanity as a whole. A sustainable economy is that which combines efficiency with justice and social solidarity.
It is in light of such tragic circumstances, the Church’s great responsibility is overcoming hunger and all other forms of deprivation in the world. One such phenomenon in our time — whereby nations operate within a globalized economic system — points to the world’s serious identity crisis, for hunger not only threatens the divine gift of life of whole peoples, but also offends the lofty dignity and sacredness of the human person, while simultaneously offending God. Therefore, if concern over our own sustenance is a material issue, then concern over feeding our neighbor is a spiritual issue (James 2:14-18).

One of the spiritual roles of our Church is “sharing in our anguish and existential problems, taking upon herself — as the Lord did — our suffering and wounds, which are caused by evil in the world and, like the Good Samaritan, pouring oil and wine upon our wounds through words of patience and comfort (Romans 15:4; Hebrews 13:22), and through love in practice.”
During the last 20 years, I have been involved in mission in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, and Mozambique. My personal testimony is that the hunger and poverty in such places is a result of our sins and selfishness. We have failed to use and share the goods of our planet in a fair way as a common gift of God for all of humanity. The number one victims of our sins are the suffering children who die because we have failed to give to them what they need to save their lives.
For the first time in over 1,000 years, many of our Orthodox churches came together at the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church in Crete, Greece recently. Τhe following are excerpts from the final resolutions, adopted by the churches, that emphasize peace and justice in addressing the witness of love and service relative to hunger and poverty.

THE PATRIARCH AT THE CENTRE OF AFRICA
On Sunday 16th October 2016, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, continuing his pastoral visit to Tanzania and specifically to the Holy Metropolis of Irinopolis, officiated during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Arusha. Arusha is a multicultural city and capital of the district of the same name in the northern borders of Tanzania with Kenya, with a population of around one million. The city is considered as the indisputable capital of East Africa (East African Community) (Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda and soon the Republic of the Congo and Ethiopia). The city hosts the central Courts of East Africa.
His Beatitude received a warm welcome by the local Metropolitan of Irinopolis His Eminence Dimitrios and the clergy of the Metropolis, the Honorary Consul of Cyprus in Arusha Mr George Mavroudis, and the Chairman of the Pan-Tanganikan Mr. Dimitrios Matthaiakis. In the crowded Holy Church of the Annunciation His Beatitude, visibly moved, spoke of the Greeks who first went to Arusha at the beginning of the previous century and of their achievements, such as the world-renowned Hellenic School “St Constantine” in 1951 and which is in operation to this day, its main benefactor and donor being Mr. Christos Galanos whose graduates today are all distinguished graduates, dispersed in all corners of the earth. With particular emotion he mentioned the family of Alexnader and Michael Rodousakis from Crete, who in 1953 built in memory of their parents John and Argyri the majestic church of the Annunciation in Arusha, as well as of the first missionary in the area, Archimandrite Nikodimos Sarikas, who died in 1941 and whose grave is in Tanga. Honouring the 14th anniversary of the ordination to the Episcopate of metropolitan Dimitrios of Irinopolis, His Beatitude wished him every good gift from God for his Hierarchal ministry and he donated a blessing Cross to the community.
Note that here in the city of Arusha, 100 Greek families first came at the beginning of the previous century, and worked mainly in the coffee rope (sisal) industries. It is characteristic that in the city square there is a tower that is deemed to be the “navel” of Africa, as the city is situated in the centre of Africa, as the distance between Arusha – Cairo is equal to the distance between Arusha-Cape Town.
Since the day of his enthronement His Beatitude has envisioned the city of Arusha as the Missionary Centre of East Africa, with a Theological Academy for the future priests, catechists and teachers, where the central printer which will issue books for worship and Orthodox catechism is also found.
The future of Orthodoxy here is bright through the mercy and Grace of God.
The next morning, His Beatitude together with His Eminence Dimitrios, Metropolitan of Irinopolis, visited the St Constantine Greek School, where 680 pupils study, in Primary, Secondary and High School, where he was warmly welcomed by the pupils and teachers. This school, which belongs to the Hellenic Pantanganikan Community, is the largest Greek School in Africa after Saheti in South Africa, at which the pupils come from various countries and which offers a high standard of education.
