This year, the Church of Cameroon had the exceptional blessing to receive for the third time – since his accession to the Apostolic Throne of St. Mark – His Beatitude Theodoros II Patriarch of Alexandria. His Beatitude chose that period to visit Cameroon because at that time twenty years had been completed since his enthronement as Metropolitan of Cameroon. Thanksgiving to the Triune God, cordial fulfillment of his eucharistic desire to meet with old associates and friends and also to be found- even for a while- amidst the flock which the Lord of the Vineyard entrusted to him for the first time in the sub-Saharan Africa twenty years ago … all these characterized the eucharistic atmosphere of his visit, in which he was the Initiator and all of us his «followers» … the initiate. This festive journey started on Saturday, November 25, 2017, in the Greek Community of Douala, where His Beatitude officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Greek Community Church of Sts Constantine and Helen, accompanied by His Eminence Narcissus Metropolitan of Accra, the local Orthodox Metropolitan and clergy from all parts of the Holy Metropolis of Cameroon. What followed next was a commemoration event in honor of H. B. in the Community premises and a joined feast. The event was attended by the members of the Greek Community of Douala as well as members of many ecclesiastical communities who went to Douala to honor the Alexandrian Prelate. On Sunday, November 26, His Beatitude and his entourage celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in the capital of Cameroon Yaoundé. Several honorary events were held by the various Church groups (women, youth, children) in honor of our Patriarch. On the occasion of the anniversary, the Holy Metropolis of Cameroon produced a commemorative bilingual pamphlet with distinctive photographs, which was distributed to everybody, and whose text explained the reason and the cause of the events. His Beatitude attended all the events and thanked all those present for their love and sacrifice to come close to him at that important moment in the course of his life, wishing them all every blessing in their life. On Monday the 27th of November, His Beatitude, accompanied by two Prelates, His Eminence Narcissus Metropolitan of Accra and His Eminence Gregory Metropolitan of Cameroon, arrived at the Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos “of the Myrtle Tree”, where he was warmly welcomed by a large number of Orthodox faithful and students from the adjacent schools. Subsequently, assisted by the two Prelates, he performed the Consecration Service of the newly built Church of the Monastery and pronounced God’s blessing of grace upon the devout donors. After the end of the Consecration Service, His Beatitude ordained the first (to be called) Abbot of this Monastery the Very Reverend Archimandrite Prodromos Katsoulis, current Chancellor of the H.M. of Cameroon. On the Monastery premises, His Beatitude spoke in a Clerical Assembly and addressed paternal admonitions and blessings to priests and deacons. On the evening of the same day, His Beatitude and his revered delegation departed for the Venerable Center of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. The visit of His Beatitude was short in terms of time but rich in blessings and support for the «little flock» of the local Orthodox Church of Cameroon. Φως εκ Φωτός έλαμψε στον κόσμο με την Ανάσταση του Κυρίου μας! Φως εκ Φωτός έλαμψε κι εδώ, στον ισημερινό της Αφρικής, τόσο μακριά από την πατρίδα. Ο Χριστός ανέστη! Τούτο το κοσμοσωτήριο νέο είναι η αλήθεια, είναι η καλή αγγελία, που ζούμε και μεταφέρουμε. Το Άγιο Φως είναι γεγονός που μας καλεί να δούμε τα πρόσωπα των άλλων με Φως Ζωής κι όχι με τη σκιά του θανάτου. Όπως ο Χριστός μας φανερώθηκε μετά την Ανάσταση, έτσι κι εμείς φανερώνουμε τον Αναστημένο Χριστό, στην άσκηση της αγάπης. Μόνο κάποιος, που ζει εδώ, μπορεί να καταλάβει πώς είναι να υπάρχεις σε μια κοινότητα νεόφυτη μέσα στον χρόνο, που αναζητά επίμονα να ξεφύγει απ’ την ματαιότητα της παλαιάς πλάνης, στην οποία για αιώνες αλυσοδεμένη υπήρξε. Σε τούτα τα μέρη, το να είναι κανείς Ορθόδοξος είναι πρώτα απ’ όλα επανάσταση ενάντια στον εχθρό της συνήθειας. Όταν λέμε στην Θ. Λειτουργία του Μ. Βασιλείου, στα μέρη αυτά, τη φράση «ἀποστήσας ἡμᾶς τῆς πλάνης τῶν εἰδώλων», μιλάμε για κάτι καθημερινό, για κάτι που υπάρχει γύρω μας! Υπό αυτές τις προϋποθέσεις φτάσαμε για μία ακόμη φορά στη γη των Πυγμαίων, μέσα στην χαρά της Διακαινησίμου εβδομάδος. Ποιμαντική επίσκεψη στο βορειότερο άκρο του Κογγό-Μπραζαβίλ, στα σύνορα της χώρας μας με την Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία του Κογγό (πρώην Ζαΐρ) και την Κεντροαφρικανική Δημοκρατία. Η γαλήνη και η ομορφιά της τροπικής φύσης αποτελεί το πρώτο καλωσόρισμα, μετά τις δύο πτήσεις που απαιτούνται από την έδρα της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως ως εδώ. Ύστερα από ένα σύντομο προσκύνημα στον Ιερό Ενοριακό Ναό Τιμίου Προδρόμου-Αγίου Νικολάου, που συμπλήρωσε έναν χρόνο ζωής από την ανέγερση και τον εγκαινιασμό του, τρέξαμε με καρδιά παλλομένη από ενθουσιασμό στην όχθη του ποταμού Οubangui. Οι είκοσι δύο κατηχούμενοι ανέμεναν το Άγιο Βάπτισμα! Ο Χριστός διαχρονικώς εντέλλεται: «Πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ῾Αγίου Πνεύματος, διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ αἰῶνος» (Ματθ. 28:19-20). Μέλη των δύο κυρίαρχων φυλών του βορρά, Πυγμαίοι και Μπαντού, δέχονται το Άγιο Φώτισμα στα νερά του δικού τους ποταμού, που γίνεται ο δικός τους Ιορδάνης! Δοξασμένο το Πανάγιο Όνομα του Τριαδικού Θεού! «Πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ Αγίου Πνεύματος» Μα το βάπτισμα δεν είναι παρά η αρχή της πνευματικής και λυτρωτικής πορείας, που οι νεοφώτιστοι σήμερα ξεκινούν. «…διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν»΄! Σειρά έχει η διαρκής διδαχή, ο ευαγγελισμός των πιστών και η εφαρμογή των Ευαγγελικών επιταγών στην καθημερινότητα, η «καλή αλλοίωση» προς συγκρότηση χριστοφόρων προσωπικοτήτων. Έτσι, το πρωί της Κυριακής του Θωμά, τελέσαμε την Θεία Ευχαριστία στον νεόδμητο Ναό, γενόμενοι σύσσωμοι και σύναιμοι αδελφοί του Δεσπότου Χριστού, παλαιότεροι και νεοφώτιστοι Ορθόδοξοι! Και με τούτη τη δύναμη της ενότητος στην Ανάσταση, σπεύσαμε στον οικισμό των αδελφών μας των Πυγμαίων, μέσα στο τροπικό δάσος, στην δική τους πατρώα γη. Οι Πυγμαίοι είναι άνθρωποι ευγενείς. Αν και τα παλαιότερα χρόνια απέφευγαν συστηματικά την επαφή ιδιαιτέρως με τους λευκούς, αφού είχαν υποφέρει από αυτούς κατά τα έτη της αποικιοκρατίας, είναι κοινωνικοί με αξίες, αρχές αλλά και μυστικά της φυλής που διαφυλάσσουν με αυστηρότητα, αρνούμενοι συνειδητά να εγκαταλείψουν τις πατρογονικές εστίες τους και να ενστερνισθούν τον σύγχρονο «δυτικό» τρόπο ζωής. Το όνομα τους το οφείλουν στον Ηρόδοτο (5ος αι. π.Χ.), ο οποίος τους ονόμασε Πυγμαίους (στα γαλλικά Pygmées) επειδή έχουν μικρό σώμα «σαν το μέγεθος μία γροθιάς» (πυγμής στην αρχαία ελληνική γλώσσα). Επίσης, ήταν γνωστοί στους αρχαίους Αιγυπτίους, οι οποίοι τους ονόμαζαν Άκα. Πρόκειται δηλαδή για μία εκ των αρχαιοτέρων ανθρωπίνων φυλών που επιβιώνει έως σήμερα. Θεωρούνται οι καλύτεροι ιχνηλάτες και οι καλύτεροι κυνηγοί στον κόσμο. Συνεπώς, μετακινούνται διαρκώς ακολουθώντας τα κοπάδια των άγριων ζώων, ανάλογα με τις ετήσιες μεταναστεύσεις των θηραμάτων που συντελούνται στην Αφρική κατά την περίοδο των βροχών. Σε τούτο, λοιπόν, τον λαό έχει ήδη φτάσει το Φως του Χριστού! Αλάτι, σαπούνι, σπίρτα, οδοντόκρεμες και οδοντόβουρτσες, αντιπυρετικά και αναλγητικά ήταν τα ταπεινά μας δώρα, μα η χαρά των αδελφών ήταν μεγάλη, γιατί αυτά χρειάζονται, με αυτά ζουν. Με το αλάτι θα συντηρήσουν το κρέας του κυνηγιού, με το σαπούνι θα πλυθούν, με τα σπίρτα θα μαγειρέψουν, θα φωτισθούν και θα θερμανθούν τις νύχτες, με τα λοιπά είδη θα φροντίσουν την υγεία τους. Κι αν με τα παραπάνω αγαθά ανακουφίζονται πρακτικώς, με την Θεία Κοινωνία θωρακίζονται πνευματικώς. Αυτό τον σκοπό εξυπηρετεί η σύμφωνα με τον δικό τους παραδοσιακό τρόπο κατασκευή μία καλύβας, η οποία θα είναι το ορθόδοξο «Παρεκκλήσι» του δάσους! Τα πνευματικά μας παιδιά άκουσαν το παρακλητικό αίτημα του Ποιμενάρχη τους πριν από ένα χρόνο και ετοίμασαν τον δικό τους ιερό χώρο, ώστε ο καλός και εργατικός Εφημέριος του βορρά, ο π. Τιμόθεος, να πηγαίνει κάθε μήνα κοντά σε όσους δεν μπορούν για πρακτικούς λόγους να μετακινηθούν προς τον κεντρικό Ενοριακό Ναό, να τελεί την Θεία Λειτουργία εκεί, να κηρύττει διαρκώς τον λόγο του Θεού, να φωτίζει ψυχές «διδάσκων αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ὁ Κύριος ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν». Αδελφοί μου, Ο Χριστός μάς καλεί σε μία τριπλή διαδικασία: αναζήτηση ψυχών και διδαχή της πίστεως (Πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη), βάπτιση (βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ῾Αγίου Πνεύματος) και πιστή εφαρμογή των λόγων Του (διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν) Και αφού το βάπτισμα έχει συντελεσθεί και η διδασκαλία της πίστεως, η κατήχηση και ο ευαγγελισμός είναι συνεχείς. «Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ αἰῶνος». Ναι, Κύριε, αυτός είναι ο τελικός σκοπός μας, η συνάντηση μαζί Σου! Η συνάντηση και η ένωση μαζί Σου, χωρίς διάκριση φυλής, έθνους ή γλώσσας. Ελάτε, αδελφοί, να συνεχίσουμε το Αποστολικό έργο! Όλοι μαζί, ενωμένοι, προσφέροντας έμπρακτα και απλόχερα ο καθένας αυτό που μπορεί να χαρίσει, είτε είναι υλικό αγαθό, είτε πνευματικό δώρημα! Ο Κύριος, «ὁ ἐτάζων καρδίας καί νεφρούς» αναμένει την αγαθή μας προαίρεση! † Ο Μπραζαβίλ & Γκαμπόν Παντελεήμων
28.7.2018 Σήμερα με μεγάλη χαρά μαζευτήκαμε, με αφορμή την πρόσκληση του πατέρα Θεμιστοκλή - για να βοηθήσουμε να φορτωθεί το CONTAINER για Μαδαγασκάρη.
Μπορώ από αυτή τη γιορτή να σας μεταφέρω μόνο τις προσωπικές μου εντυπώσεις ... οι άνδρες τις παρέας πραγματικά κατέβαλαν κόπο μεγάλο στο κουβάλημα ... στην τακτοποίηση των πραγμάτων στο container, ώστε να χωρέσουν κατά το δυνατόν περισσότερα πράγματα, ρούχα, κρεβάτια, καρέκλες, γραφεία, H/Y, τρόφιμα, φάρμακα, εργαλεία, ηλεκτρολογικά και υδραυλικά υλικά, μαγειρικά σκεύη και φυσικά παιχνίδια για τα παιδιά είναι μερικά από τα ελάχιστα πράγματα που συγκεντρώθηκαν και χώρεσαν στο container.
Είδα τον Άγγελο να γίνεται πραγματικά λάστιχο για να τακτοποιήσει τα πράγματα, είδα τον κ. Θανάση να συντονίζει και να σηκώνει τα πιο βαριά πράγματα, είδα την κα Δέσποινα με πρόβλημα στη μέση, φιλότιμα να τακτοποιεί τα ομοειδή είδη σε κουτιά, είδα τον κ. Παύλο να μην σταματά να φέρνει υλικά και πράγματα ... και από τις πιο συγκινητικές για μένα στιγμές ... όταν το container είχε πια σχεδόν γεμίσει και τα παιδιά φωνάζανε ότι δεν χωρούν άλλα πράγματα ... να παίρνει ο κ. Παύλος την κιθάρα του συγχωρεμένου του αδελφού του ... που είχαμε μόλις συσκευάσει και να λέει συγκινημένος "... και αυτό πρέπει να πάει στην Μαδαγασκάρη!".
Όλα τα παιδιά ... κ. Κώστας, κ. Ηλίας, Νεκτάριος, Χαράλαμπος, Βασίλης, Αναστάσης, Λυκούργος, Γρηγορία, και άλλα τόσα παιδιά τα ονόματα των οποίων δυστυχώς δεν φρόντισα να μάθω, ήταν όλοι εκεί!
... και τέλος ... είδα να γεμίζει πια το container ... να βγαίνουν οι τελευταίες φωτογραφίες και να σφραγίζει πια ... έτοιμο για το μεγάλο ταξίδι ... θα φτάσει στην Μαδαγασκάρη σε 1 μήνα.
... Θυμάμαι τέλος και την τελευταία ευχή του κ. Θανάση ... άντε και σε ένα μήνα να είμαστε πάλι ξανά όλοι εδώ!!!
Πόσο χαίρομαι που ζω κοντά σε μια τόσο ζωντανή ΕΝΟΡΙΑ, με έναν ιερέα που τρέχει για όλους και που μου δίνει τόσες ευκαιρίες να νιώθω και εγω λίγο ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΣ!

Light of Light shined onto the world with our Lord’s Resurrection! Light of Light also shined here, on the equator of Africa, so far from homeland. Christ has risen! This world-redeeming news is the truth, it is the glad tidings which we live and convey. The Holy Light is a fact that invites us to see the faces of the others in the Light of Life and not in the shadow of death. As Christ was revealed to us after the Resurrection, so we are revealing the Risen Christ in the exercise of love. Only someone who lives here can understand what it’s like to be in a community that is newly planted in time, which is persistently seeking to escape the futility of the old error/fallacy, to which it has been chained for centuries. In these places, being Orthodox is first of all a revolution against the enemy of habit. When we say in the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil, in these places, the phrase “releasing us from the delusions of idolatry «, we are talking about something daily, something that exists around us! Under these circumstances, we once again arrived in the land of the Pygmies in the joyous atmosphere of the Easter week. It was a pastoral visit to the northernmost point of the Congo-Brazzaville, on the border of our country with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (former Zaire) and the Central African Republic. The tranquility and beauty of the tropical nature is the first welcome after the two flights required from the seat of the Holy Metropolis to this place. After a short pilgrimage to the Holy Parish Church of St. John the Forerunner and St. Nicholas, which completed its first year of life since its construction and consecration, with a heart full of enthusiasm we rushed to the bank of the River Oubangui. The twenty-two catechumens were patiently standing there in anticipation of the Holy Baptism! Christ’s mandate for peoples’ evangelism is a timeless one,» Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world» (Matthew 28:19-20). Members of the two sovereign tribes of the north, the Pygmies and the Bantu, receive the Holy Light in the waters of their own river, which thus becomes their own Jordan River! Glory in the Most Holy Name of the Triune God! «Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost». But baptism is only the beginning of the spiritual and redemptive course that the newly-baptized people are starting today. «.. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you”. What follows is the constant teaching and preaching, the evangelization of the faithful, and the application of the evangelical mandates to our daily life, the «good alteration», which results in the formation of Christians who not merely bear the name but who first and foremost bear Christ in them. So, on the Sunday morning of Doubting Thomas, we performed the Holy Eucharist in the newly-built church, thus becoming all brothers of the Master Christ, older and newly-illumined Orthodox! And with this power of unity in the Resurrection, we rushed to the settlement of our Pygmy brothers, in the rainforest, in their own homeland. The Pygmies are noble people. Although they used to systematically avoid contact with other tribes, particularly with the white race since they had suffered from them during the years of colonialism, they are sociable people with values, principles and secrets of their tribe which they preserve vigorously, consciously refusing to abandon their ancestral homes and embrace the modern «western» way of life. They owe their name to Herodotus (5th century BC), who named them “Pygmies” because they have a small body «like the size of a punch» (“pygme” in the ancient Greek language). They were also known to the ancient Egyptians, who called them “Aka”. This is one of the oldest human tribes that have survived to this day. They are considered to be the best trackers and hunters in the world. Consequently, they are constantly on the move after herds of wild life, depending on the annual migratory movements of the African prey during the rainy season. It is this people that the Light of Christ has already reached! Salt, soap, matches, toothpaste and toothbrushes, antipyretics and analgesics were our humble gifts, but the joy of our African brothers was great, because these are the things they need and live with. Our spiritual children observed the apostolic request of their Shepherd a year ago and prepared their own sacred space so that the good and hardworking priest from the north, Fr. Timothy, can go every month to those who cannot possibly move to the Central Parish Church, in order to perform the Divine Liturgy there, always preach the word of God, illuminate souls, “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever the Lord hath commanded us”. Dear brothers and sisters, Christ invites us to a triple process which involves: seeking souls and teaching faith (Go ye therefore, and teach all nations), baptizing (baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost), and faithfully applying His words (Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you). And since baptism has already been performed and the teaching of faith as well as catechism and evangelism are continuous, «and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world»(Matthew 28: 19-20), what is left, O Lord, is the accomplishment of our ultimate purpose, our encounter with You! Meeting and being united with You, regardless of race, nation or language. Come on, brothers, let us continue the Mission work of the Apostles! All together, united, with each one of us practicing generosity and selfless love and giving our offering, whether it be a material good or a spiritual gift! The Lord, «the One who trieth the hearts and reins», awaits our good intentions!
Ορθόδοξη Ιεραποστολή στο Καμερούν 09.04.2018 Δευτέρα του Πάσχα. Επίσκεψη στο ορφανοτροφείο της Μητροπόλεως μας. Ο Σεβασμιώτατος, ο πατήρ Γεώργιος και π. Ευάγγελος μοίρασαν παιχνίδια, τρόφιμα και γραφική ύλη στα παιδιά και τους μίλησαν για την Ανάσταση του Χριστού. Τα παιδιά στο τέλος για να μας αποχαιρετήσουν έψαλαν το Χριστός Ανέστη στα Ελληνικά. 09.04.2018 Lundi de Pâques. Visite à l'orphelinat de notre Métropole. Le Métropolite, Mgr Gregorios et le père Evangelos ont distribué aux enfants des jouets, de grandes quantités de nourriture et de la papeterie; ensuite, ils leur ont parlé de la Résurrection de Christ. Father George and f. Evangelos distributed toys, food and stationery to children and talked to them about the Resurrection of Christ. The children at the end to say good-bye to us sang "Jesus is Risen" in Greek.

Kenya’nın Azize Irene Ortodoks Hizmeti ve Yetimhanesinde neşeli bir vaftiz kutlandı. Yetimhanenin 35 çocuğu için Kutsal Vaftiz Töreni yapılarak, çocuklar Mesih’in Kutsal bedenine ve kanına katıldı. Bu törenin, Azize Irene Ortodoks Hizmeti ve Yetimhanesi tarihindeki bu ilk toplu Vaftiz töreni olduğu bildirdi. Törenden sonra artık yetimhanede vaftiz edilerek kilise ailesine katılmış 60’dan fazla çocuk var. Kenya’da kurulan Azize Irene Yetimhanesi Rahip Constantinos ve presbyter Teresa Jepchumba tarafından 2010 yılında faaliyete geçti. Yetimhanede şu anda 140 korunmasız çocuğa bakılıyor. Bu çocukların 40’ı tamamen yetimhanede yaşayan yetimlerden oluşuyor. Hizmet, Ocak ayında yetimleri barındırmak için kalıcı evler yapabilmek için arazi elde edebildiğini açıkladı. Aralarından Birleşik Ortodoks Afrika’nın da bulunduğu misyon kuruluşları tarafından Peder Silouan öncülüğünde kurulan yetimhanenin yanı sıra başka bir yerde kurulan Barnabas Yetimhanesi’nde de 2017 mayısında 11 çocuk vaftiz edilmişti.(orthochristian)
Chers amis de la Mission Orthodoxe, je ressens le besoin de vous contacter pour vous informer sur les œuvres missionnaires. Avec l’aide de Dieu et la bénédiction de sa Béatitude le Patriarche Théodore II l’œuvre missionnaire ainsi que philanthropique avance lentement mais constamment. Notre œuvre est faite sur plusieurs fronts vu les nombreux besoins tant dans le domaine missionnaire que philanthropique. Quotidiennement de nouvelles choses, de nouveaux besoins et problèmes font leur apparition. Les indigènes toujours comptent sur nous croyant que nous pouvons remédier à tous les problèmes, car ils n’ont pas accès à l’Etat ou à des personnes aux postes décisionnaires ou à des personnes riches. Quotidiennement des gens ayant des problèmes médicaux viennent ici. Dans ce cas-là nous les envoyons à nos cabinets médicaux mais quand le problème est un peu sérieux nous les envoyons accompagnés à l’hôpital. Dans plusieurs villages que nous visitons nous rencontrons des cas sérieux qui conduisent le malade à une mort précoce, vu que la maladie se trouve à un stade avancé voire irréversible. Les cabinets médicaux de la Mission préviennent nombreux de tels cas et ils sauvent des vies dans les vastes déserts où ils fonctionnent. L’amour pour le salut non seulement de l’âme mais aussi du corps ne laisse pas d’opportunités de se perdre, bravant la douleur, le temps mais aussi l’argent pour qu’un seul âme soit sauvé. Notre frère, qui qu’il soit, est Jésus Christ Lui-même et nous devons être à la place du Bon Samaritain.Tout cela n’est pas facile à achever parce que des personnes capables, du temps et de l’argent sont tout d’abord exigés.Les personnes à une mission couvrent la moitié de la réussite de toute l’œuvre. Malheureusement, les personnes sont absentes de presque toutes les missions de sorte que la charge de la Mission pèse sur peu de personnes. Les distances sont grandes et les rues en état déplorable à tel point que nos courts déplacements sont contrariés dans beaucoup de régions lointaines. Nos Chrétiens nous attendent pour écouter la parole de Dieu et nous dire leurs problèmes. Des personnes isolées de notre environnement connu comme civilisé elles demandent de partager leur amour mais aussi de tout ce qui les préoccupe. De telles régions sont privées non seulement d’électricité, qui est inexistente même dans les grandes villes mais aussi d’eau. La Mission Orthodoxe dans ces régions tant infertiles que sèches, quand elle peut, elle construit des citernes au centre du village en les remplissant avec le bateau-citerne pour que les gens puissent avoir un peu d’eau potable pure. Dans la région de Tuléar, où il pleut rarement, l’eau est un problème sérieux. Quelqu’un voit les gens apportant de l’eau de plusieurs kilomètres loin avec les bidons sur leur tête ou avec des charettes ou des chars à bœufs. Il y a assez de villages tout au long de la rue, dans des régions rocheuses, sans plantation, rien que des buissons sauvages. Leur seule occupation est fabriquer du charbon, qu’ils vendent à Tuléar. L’image qu’ils présentent est tragique. Leurs vêtements sont sales, déchirés, presque des chiffons. Leur cuisine en plein air, primitive, avec du charbon ou bois. Leur batterie de cuisine en état déplorable, sans règles d’hygiène. Les petits enfants ne vont pas à l’école, puisqu’elle n’existe pas, et toute la journée ils jouent avec la terre et aux jeux improvisés. Avec peu de bonbons, que nous leur donnons, ils font la fête à tel point qu’ils lèchent les emballages. C’est à ce moment-là que quelqu’un peut voir le point culminant de la pauvreté. Nous leur avons promis de leur construire une petite école et une petite église. Il serait souhaitable si la Fraternité Orthodoxe nous aidait à construire tous ces deux bâtiments. Espérons que Dieu va nous présenter un donateur. L’espoir n’est jamais perdu. Il meurt en dernier.
