Ιερά Μητρόπολη Κινσάσας



















Κατά το Άγιον Δωδεκαήμερο και στην Β΄ Μητροπολιτική Περιφέρεια της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Κινσάσα, με την ευλογία του Σεβασμιωτάτου Μητροπολίτου Κινσάσας κ. Νικηφόρου, πολλοί άνθρωποι μετά από ικανή κατήχηση, τόσο στην Κανάγκα όσο και σε άλλες περιοχές της Μητροπόλεως, προσήλθαν και έλαβαν το Άγιο Βάπτισμα.
Οι αδελφές του ιεραποστολικού Κλιμακίου, εκτός από την συμβολή τους στην κατήχηση, προετοίμασαν για όλους τους νεοφώτιστους λευκούς χιτώνες και σταυρουδάκια.
Στην Κανάγκα τελέσθηκε το μυστήριο της Βαπτίσεως την παραμονή της εορτής των Χριστουγέννων και την παραμονή της εορτής των Θεοφανείων, με την προσέλευση περί  των εκατό ανθρώπων, από τον Πατριαρχικό Επίτροπο Κανάγκας και Πρωτοσύγκελλο της Μητροπόλεως αρχιμανδρίτη Θεοδόσιο Τσιτσιβό και από τους Ιερείς π. Παύλο Mukengeshayi, π. Ματθαίο Vudu, π. Παύλο Ilunga και  π. Ανδρέα  Bukasa.
Στο χωριό Dibaya,  μαζί με τις ακολουθίες των Θεοφανείων, ο αρχιμανδρίτης  Χαρίτων Musungayi  εν μέσω πολλών δυσκολιών, βάπτισε περίπου εξήντα ανθρώπους. Στο χωριό Mikalayi λειτούργησε κατά τις άγιες ημέρες και βάπτισε περίπου πενήντα ανθρώπους ο π. Καλλίνικος Kakanda.
Στο  απομακρυσμένο από την Κανάγκα  χωριό Bena- Leka, ο π. Εμμανουήλ Mayombo,  λειτούργησε το άγιο δωδεκαήμερο και βάπτισε περίπου σαράντα ανθρώπους.
Στην Mukanya – Kalamba και Nzapo, λειτούργησε κατά τις εορτές και βάπτισε περί των είκοσι δύο  ανθρώπων και τέλεσε το μυστήριο του γάμου, ο π. Ματθαίος  Vudu.
Στο χωριό Mbala,  την παραμονή των Θεοφανείων, βάπτισε περί των εκατό ανθρώπων ο  π. Πάυλος Ilunga.
Βέβαια και σε άλλες περιοχές της Ι. Μητροπόλεως είχαμε προσέλευση ανθρώπων στην Ορθόδοξη Πίστη δια του Βαπτίσματος.

In the afternoon of 6th January 2018, His Eminence Panteleimon. Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon went by air to the capital, Brazzaville, where he performed the baptisms of newly-enlightened brothers and sisters in the outdoor baptistry of the Parish Community of the Resurrection of the Lord, to whom he addressed paternal advice and prayers.

The Metropolitan will remain in the capital of the Congo, so that on Sunday, 7^th January, he can officiate at the ceremony of the sanctification of the waters of the Congo River.

À midi le 6 Janvier 2018, Son Eminence l’Archevêque Métropolitain du Congo-Brazzaville et du Gabon, Mgr. Panteleimon, s’est envolé pour la capitale Brazzaville, où il a célébré les baptêmes de nos frères convertis à l’Orthodoxie dans le baptistère extérieur de la Communauté Paroissiale de la Résurrection du Seigneur, à qui il a adressé des admonestations paternelles et salutations.

L’Archevêque restera dans la capitale congolaise pour célébrer le Dimanche 7 Janvier la cérémonie de sanctification de l'eau du fleuve Congo.

A Thirst-Quenching Gift

Dear friends of the Mission,
Firstly, once again I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude for your undivided material, moral and mainly prayerful support to the missionary work of our Holy Metropolis. I wholeheartedly thank you for your love and your noble donation of 7,500 euro to our Metropolis to meet the multiple functional needs of maintaining and continuing our missionary work in this fertile missionary province of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
With this letter, I hereby wish to ask for your assistance for the drilling of a water-well in Empremai village in Ghana. In this village, we have just completed the construction of a new elementary school, which will offer free education to the children in the area, who would probably otherwise remain uneducated. The building complex is ready, but we need to drill a borehole so that students can have access to clean and safe drinking water. The total drilling cost along with the equipment is estimated at 4,000 euro.

I am well aware of the fact that the current economic conditions are extremely unfavorable and most often prohibitive. However, I draw courage from your love for the Mission and look forward to your positive response to our request for helping the young school children.

How old is the ORTHODOX faith?

If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex-monk of the Catholic Church, in the Year 1517.
If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the Year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to re-marry.
If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in the Year 1560. If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582. If you are Protestant Episcopalian, your religion was an offshoot of the Church of England, founded by Samuel Senbury in the American colonies in the 17th century. If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1606.
If you are of the Dutch Reformed Church, you recognize Michelis Jones as founder because he originated your religion in New York in 1628. If you are a Methodist, your religion was founded by John and Charles Wesley in England in 1774. If you are a Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, New York, in 1829.
If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865. If you are Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mary Baker Eddy as its founder.

If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as “Church of the Nazarene, Pentecostal Gospel,” “Holiness Church,” or “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” your religion is one of the hundreds of new sects founded by men within the past hundred Years.
If you are Roman Catholic, your Church shared the same rich apostolic and doctrinal heritage as the Orthodox Church for the first thousand Years of its history, since during the first millennium they were one and the same Church. Lamentably, in 1054, the Pope of Rome broke away from the other four Apostolic Patriarchates (which include Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch and Jerusalem), by tampering with the Original Creed of the Church, and considering himself to be infallible. Thus your Church is 1,000 Years old.
If you are a ORTHODOX Christian, your religion was founded in the Year 33 by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It has not changed since that time. Our Church is now almost 2,000 Years old. And it is for this reason, that Orthodoxy, the Church of the Apostles and the Fathers is considered the true “One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.”
This is the greatest legacy that we can pass on to the young people of the new millennium.

On Sunday 7^th January 2018, His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Parish Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in the capital, Brazzaville, after which despite the intense tropical storm, a procession too place following special permission, ending on the banks of the Congo River.  

There, the Orthodox Christians experienced in prayer for the fifth time, in the history of the local Church, the ceremony of the submersion of the Precious Cross into the 2^nd largest river in the world.

On the banks, His Eminence spoke briefly about the historic establishment and the theological interpretation of the ceremony of the submersion of the Precious Cross and the sanctification of the waters. In conclusion, he conveyed  to the Christian flock the paternal prayers and blessing of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa and thanked the ex.Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of the Congo Mrs. Emilienne Raoul who was present, as well as the authorities of the country, for the respect and support shown to the Orthodox Church.

The Eucharistic Gathering and the ceremony of submersion of the Precious Cross was covered by Tele Congo the State television, to which His Eminence granted a brief interview.

Le Dimanche 7 Janvier 2018, Son Eminenvce l’Archevêque Métropolitain du Congo-Brazzaville et Gabon, Mgr. Panteleimon, a présidé  la Sainte Messe et prêché la Parole de Dieu dans l’Eglise Paroissiale « Résurrection du Seigneur » de la capitale Brazzaville, après quoi, en dépit de la forte tempête tropicale, une randonnée de procession, sous licence des autorités, fut effectuée jusque aux rives du Congo.

Là-bas, les chrétiens orthodoxes en prière, ont vécu pour la cinquième fois dans l'histoire de l'Eglise locale la cérémonie d'immersion de la Sainte Croix dans les eaux du deuxième plus grand fleuve du monde.

Sur la rive, Son Eminence a rapidement parlé de l'établissement historique et de l'interprétation théologique de la cérémonie de plongée de la Sainte Croix et de la sanctification de l'eau. En concluant, il a transmis au peuple chrétien les salutations paternelles et les bénédictions de Sa Béatitude le Pape et Patriarche d'Alexandrie et de toute l'Afrique, Théodore II, et a remercié les participants en la personne de l'anicien Ministre des Affaires sociales de la République du Congo, Mme Emilienne Raoul, ainsi que les autorités du pays, pour le respect démontré et la sympathie manifestée envers l'Eglise Orthodoxe.

La Synaxe Eucharistique et la cérémonie de plongée de la Sainte Croix ont été couvertes par la télévision d'Etat Télé-Congo, à laquelle son Em. a accordé une brève interview.
