Την 16η Μαρτίου 2017, η ΑΘΜ ο Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ.Θεόδωρος Β΄, συνοδευόμενος από τον Σεβασμ. Μητροπολίτη Άκκρας και Πατριαρχικό Επίτροπο Αλεξανδρείας κ.Νάρκισσο και τον Γενικό Πρόξενο της Ελλάδος στην Αλεξάνδρεια κ.Εμμανουήλ Κακαβελάκη, επισκέφθηκε το Διοικητήριο της Μεγάλης Πόλεως Αλεξανδρείας, όπου προσέφερε περίτεχνη χάλκινη προτομή του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου, μοναδικό έργο Τήνιου καλλιτέχνη, με την επιγραφή «Πραξιτέλους».

Με την συμβολική αυτή κίνηση, ο Αλεξανδρινός Προκαθήμενος εξαίρει το σύμβολο της παρουσίας του Έλληνα Μακεδόνα ιδρυτή της Μεγάλης Πόλεως Αλεξανδρείας, Στρατηλάτη Αλέξανδρου, προκειμένου να προβάλει και να υπενθυμίζει διαρκώς με την παρουσία του τον ένδοξο ελληνικό πολιτισμό, την οικουμενικότητά του και τους δεσμούς αγάπης, συνεργασίας και αμοιβαίας ειρηνικής συνύπαρξης που συνδέουν για αιώνες τον Ελληνισμό με την Νειλοχώρα της Αιγύπτου.

In Kibera Slum July 31st of 2016 the director of Orthodox Africa had the joy of joining of serving with Father Agapios at Saint George Orthodox Church in the Kibera Slums outside Nairobi Kenya.

During this time many new Orthodox Warriors were enlisted into God's army and accepted into the Orthodox faith by the sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation.

34 Depois de convocar a multidão e os seus discípulos, disse-lhes:
—Se alguém quis...er vir comigo, tem que negar a si mesmo, pegar a sua cruz e me seguir. 35 Pois todo aquele que quiser salvar a sua vida, irá perdê-la; mas aquele que perder a sua vida por minha causa e por causa das Boas Novas [h], irá salvá-la. 36 Que vantagem terá alguém em ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder a sua alma? 37 O que pode um homem dar em troca de sua alma? 38 Se alguém desta geração perversa e pecadora tiver vergonha de mim e das coisas que ensino, o Filho do Homem [i] também terá vergonha dele quando vier na glória de seu Pai com os santos anjos. Depois Jesus lhes disse: — Digo a verdade a vocês: Alguns dos que estão aqui presentes não morrerão antes de ver a vinda poderosa do reino de Deus.

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

34 Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν ὄχλον σὺν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὅστις θέλει ὀπίσω μου ἀκολουθεῖν, ἀπαρνησάσθω ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀράτω τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀκολουθείτω μοι. 35 ὃς γὰρ ἂν θέλῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ σῶσαι, ἀπολέσει αὐτήν· ὃς δ’ ἂν ἀπολέσῃ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ψυχὴν ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ καὶ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου, οὗτος σώσει αὐτήν. 36 τί γὰρ ὠφελήσει ἄνθρωπον ἐὰν κερδήσῃ τὸν κόσμον ὅλον, καὶ ζημιωθῇ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ; 37 ἢ τί δώσει ἄνθρωπος ἀντάλλαγμα τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ; 38 ὃς γὰρ ἐὰν ἐπαισχυνθῇ με καὶ τοὺς ἐμοὺς λόγους ἐν τῇ γενεᾷ ταύτῃ τῇ μοιχαλίδι καὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπαισχυνθήσεται αὐτὸν ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἐν τῇ δόξῃ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ἀγγέλων τῶν ἁγίων.
1 Καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εἰσί τινες ὧδε τῶν ἑστηκότων, οἵτινες οὐ μὴ γεύσωνται θανάτου ἕως ἂν ἴδωσι τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐληλυθυῖαν ἐν δυνάμει.

34 После събра край себе си всички хора и учениците си и им каза: „Ако някой иска да ме последва, трябва да каже «Не!» на собствените си желания, да вземе своя кръст и да ме следва. 35 Който иска да спаси живота си, ще го загуби, а който загуби живота си заради мен и заради Благата вест, ще го спаси. 36 Каква полза има човек, ако спечели целия свят, а изгуби живота си? 37 И какво може да плати, за да си го върне? 38 Ако някой се срамува от мен и учението ми в това неверно и грешно поколение, то и Човешкият Син ще се срамува от него, когато дойде в славата на Баща си със святите ангели.“
И Исус им каза: „Истина ви казвам: някои от хората, които сега стоят тук, няма да умрат, преди да видят Божието царство да идва със сила.“

34 ثُمَّ دَعا إلَيهِ الجَمْعَ مَعَ تَلامِيذِهِ، وَقالَ لَهُمْ: «إنْ أرادَ أحَدٌ أنْ يَأتِيَ مَعِي، فَلا بُدَّ أنْ يُنكِرَ نَفسَهُ، وَأنْ يَرفَعَ الصَّلِيبَ المُعطَى لَهُ وَيَتبَعَنِي. 35 فَمَنْ يُرِيدُ أنْ يُخَلِّصَ حَياتَهُ، سَيَخسَرُها. أمّا مَنْ يَخسَرُ حَياتَهُ مِنْ أجلِي وَمِنْ أجلِ البِشارَةِ، فَسَيُخَلِّصُها. 36 فَماذا يَنتَفِعُ الإنْسانُ لَو رَبِحَ العالَمَ كُلَّهُ، وَخَسِرَ نَفْسَهُ؟ 37 وَماذا يَستَطِيعُ الإنسانُ أنْ يُقَدِّمَ لِيَستَرِدَّ حَياتَهُ؟ 38 لِأنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ يَخجَلُ بِي وَبِكَلامِي فِي هَذا الجِيلِ الفاسِقِ الخاطِئِ، سَيَخجَلُ بِهِ ابنُ الإنسانِ حِينَ يَأتي فِي مَجدِ أبيْهِ مَعَ مَلائِكَتِهِ المُقَدَّسِينَ.»
ثُمَّ قالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ: «أقُولُ لَكُمُ الحَقَّ: إنَّ مِنْ بَينِ الواقِفِينَ هُنا أشخاصاً لَنْ يَذُوقُوا المَوتَ قَبلَ أنْ يَرَوا مَلَكوتَ اللهِ آتِياً بِقُوَّةٍ.»

ALEXANDER THE GREAT IN HIS BELOVED ALEXANDRIA

 

 

 

On 16th May 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied byu His Eminence Narkissos Metropolitan of Accra and Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria and the Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis, visited Government House of the Great City of Alexandria, where he donated an elaborate bronze bust of Alexander the Great, a unique work by an artisit from Tinos, with the inxcription “Praxitelous”.

Through this symbolic act the Alexandrian Primate commends the symbol of the presence of the Greek Macedonian founder of the Great City of Alexandria, Commander Alexander. In order to promote and to constantly recall through his presence the glorious Greek culture, its universality and the bonds of love, cooperation and mutual peaceful existence which for centuries has bound Hellenism with Egypt, the Land of the Nile.

" Recent photos of the Orphanage in Madagascar. Isn't it beautiful? Thank you to all those who contributed in some way to make this happen and provide a safe haven for many children. We are now trying to acquire 50 mattresses, single sheets etc to fit 50 beds for the Orphanage. We will keep you posted.
