The Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos and the 55th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of Congo-Brazzaville

The Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos was celebrated at the Parish Churches of Congo-Brazzaville with religious reverence and devotion. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated early in the morning at the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire by His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, who preached the homily on the person of the Mother of God.
Immediately afterwards, His Grace and the Very Reverend Fr. Maximos Oumba, Hierarchal Vicar General of the Holy Diocese, attended the parade which took place on the occasion of the national anniversary for the 55th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of Congo-Brazzaville (15th August 1960).
