On Sunday 23 February 2014, Reverend George Pittaras officiated at the service of the Holy Eucharist at the private Chapel of Saint John the Baptist.
The Chapel is on the property of the Minas family in Queenstown. The abandoned property was bought years ago by the Minas family (from Lesvos in Greece) and had originally been owned by a Catholic institution. Their son Peter lives on the property with his wife and two daughters and has converted a dilapidated traditional Xhosa mud hut into an authentic Orthodox Chapel.
