"This Saturday on 14th April 2018, His Grace Innocentios Byakatonda, the Bishop of Burundi and Rwanda celebrated the Holy Liturgy in Rwamagana, in Eastern Province of Rwanda, and in that Divine Liturgy we had the Easter Prayers because he was in Burundi during the Holy Week and the Easter.It was the great opportunity for Rwandan to rejoice the mystery of Easter. After the Divine Liturgy our Bishop has done the Memorial Service to remember the Tutsi killed in genocide of 1994. About 350 were present in a very small church that is about to hold 80 people. Orthodox communities around the world journeyed through Holy Week toward Christ's triumphant Resurrection. Thank you for all that you have done to share the Faith with them.
The Church of Guatemala participated in Holy Week with reverence and faith. Many people came to receive Holy Unction at the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Aguacate. Long-term Missionary Jesse Brandow talks highly of his brothers and sisters in Christ, saying, “The people here have a tremendous belief in Christ's healing power.”
After announcing beforehand that those who are too sick to walk to church could receive Holy Unction in their houses, many still insisted in walking to the Cathedral. “Despite great physical pain,” Jesse says, “[they walked] so that they could be anointed there and receive Christ's healing power. Glory to God!”
On Holy Friday the faithful commemorated the Crucifixion and the taking down of Christ’s body from the Cross. Twenty girls served as myrrh-bearers during the Lamentations service! Holy Saturday saw many baptisms in Guatemala, with 25 people being welcomed into the Body of Christ!
In Kenya, OCMC Missionary Dr. Bill Black celebrated Pascha at St. Paul's Orthodox Church near Jepkoiai in Vihiga, in western Kenya. Fr. Nicodemus Karanja served the Liturgy, and Dr. Black offered the sermon. Afterwards, they taught children of the church, and since there are no Sunday School facilities, they had class outside!
Dr. Black and OCMC say a big, “Thank you, Fr. Karanja, for a wonderful service and celebration! Thank you, St. Paul's parish, for your wonderful welcome! Christ is risen!”

Dear Friends of the Mission, Christ be with us all! I feel greatly honored to contact the Orthodox Missionary Fraternity in order to express my sincere gratitude for the support you have given to our new Diocese, which actually promotes the spirit of brotherhood and Orthodoxy that exists between us. The Lord continues to work wonders in our new diocese. Not at the fast rate one would expect of course, but we have already gone a long way. I will mention some of our achievements. We have completed 90% of our office construction. Fortunately, we no longer have to pay rents as we have already moved into our new offices. With the blessings of our Patriarch, we have got a monastery dedicated to St. Cleopatra, and soon Saint Anthony’s monastery is going to be completed. We already have five nuns. Finally, we managed to get a car to visit the far reaches of our diocese. This enabled us to perform several baptisms and church inaugurations. As regards drillings, we have purchased a good drilling rig. We are currently building the St. Athanasius Middle School at Nandi, which has about 140 students. It is a building that belongs to the Sts. Paul and Dionysius parish, the first Orthodox Church in the Busia district. In our schools we were running a feeding program for poor children, but for the time being we have stopped it due to lack of funds. Unfortunately, our education support program is not going well as we have many children and young people whose education has been discontinued due to lack of funding. We also made a lot of ecclesiastical gatherings, in which we taught them about Orthodoxy. Unfortunately, we still have many more problems to deal with and we need your prayers as well as any other form of assistance. Nevertheless, it gives us a great joy to know that there are many people who still pray in the province and that the number of our parish communities is growing! Now we have about 300 parishes, half of which have permanent buildings. We need about 10,000 euro for a simple, plain Orthodox church that holds 50 people and about 5,000 euro for the completion of each incomplete church. Then, we have the Saint Tabitha Orphanage, for which I have a dream: to see it growing, to see all the children there have food, clothing and uninterrupted education. The amount of money required for each child is about €1 a day. Another challenge that we have to face is the stipend of our priests. We would like to be able to pay them with at least € 190 monthly, but so far we haven’t got the luxury to give them even € 50. Bear in mind that we have 110 clerics in our diocese. This year, I hope, God willing, to have the construction of the classrooms at St. Athanasius School completed so that next year we can go on with the construction of the next school. We need three classrooms, which will cost 1,800 euro each. I also want to share with you, my beloved brethren, the miracles that our Orthodoxy works in our continent. In our diocese the people are flocking into our churches. To my great surprise, many people have embraced monasticism. This good news is partly due to your own help, this is why I share some of our anxieties with you, since I know that with your wisdom, guidance and prayer we will overcome the difficulties in the years to come, and thus, the light of Orthodoxy will shine in all the corners of the world, especially in Kisumu. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, brethren, for your unconditional love and support. I particularly want to express my sincere gratitude to all the Greeks who help spread our honored faith in Africa. We all thank you wholeheartedly because you have changed our lives here in Africa, despite all the difficulties you have to face in your own country. Thank you for standing by our side, not only by providing us with material assistance but also through prayer and companionship. "Το Σάββατο, 14η Απριλίου 2018, ο Σεβ.Μητροπολίτης Μπραζαβίλ και Γκαμπόν κ.Παντελεήμων αφίχθη αεροπορικώς στην πόλη Impfondο του βορείου Κονγκό προκειμένου να επισκεφθή την Ενοριακή Κοινότητα Τιμίου Προδρόμου-Αγίου Νικολάου. Στο αεροδρόμιο της πόλεως τον Σεβασμιώτατο υπεδέχθησαν ο Αιδεσιμ. Πρεσβ. π.Τιμόθεος Ndzebé και τα μέλη της Ενοριακής Επιτροπής.
Μετά από προσκυνηματική επίσκεψη στον Ιερό Ναό Τιμίου Προδρόμου-Αγίου Νικολάου, τον πρώτο Ορθόδοξο Ναό στο βόρειο Κονγκό, μετέβη στις όχθες του ποταμού Oubangui -ο οποίος καθορίζει επισήμως μέρος των συνόρων μεταξύ των κρατών της Δημοκρατίας του Κονγκό (Μπραζαβίλ) και της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας του Κονγκό (Κινσάσα)- όπου ετέλεσε την βάπτιση γηγενών νεοφωτίστων όλων των ηλικιών, προερχομένων από τις φυλές των Μπαντού και των Πυγμαίων.
Στην όχθη του ποταμού, ο Μητροπολίτης τους μίλησε για την μοναδικότητα του αγίου βαπτίσματος και την απαρχή της πνευματικής ζωής, ενώ τους εξήγησε τα διάφορα στάδια του Ι. Μυστηρίου.
Η ημέρα ολοκληρώθηκε με πολύωρη συνεργασία και πνευματική επικοινωνία με τον προσφιλέστατο Εφημέριο π.Τιμόθεο."

"Το απόγευμα της Κυριακής του Θωμά, 15ης Απριλίου 2018, ο Σεβ. Μητροπολίτης Μπραζαβίλ και Γκαμπόν κ. Παντελεήμων, συνοδευόμενος από τον Εφημέριο π. Τιμόθεο Ndzebé και τον κ.Πρόεδρο της Ενοριακής Κοινότητος πόλεως Impfondo, μετέβη στο τροπικό δάσος όπου κατοικεί η αρχαιοτάτη φυλή των Πυγμαίων, η οποία έχει ασπασθή την ορθόδοξη πίστη.
Κατά την συνάντηση με μέλη της φυλής – η πλειοψηφία της οποίας κατά την παρούσα χρονική περίοδο έχει μετακινηθή στα βάθη των πυκνών δασών της κεντρικής Αφρικής προς αναζήτηση θηραμάτων- ο Σεβασμιώτατος προσέφερε ποσότητα αλατιού, σαπουνιού και σπίρτων, υλικών απαραίτητων για τον κυνηγετικό τρόπο ζωής των αυτοχθόνων, είδη στοματικής υγιεινής, καθώς και αναλγητικά και αντιπυρετικά φάρμακα.
Ακολούθως, όλοι μετέβησαν σε έναν ιδιαίτερο χώρο εντός του καταυλισμού, διαμορφωμένο σύμφωνα με τον παραδοσιακό τρόπο κατασκευής των καταλυμάτων της φυλής, ο οποίος θα χρησιμοποιείται αποκλειστικώς ως χώρος λατρείας εντός του τροπικού δάσους, ώστε ο Εφημέριος του Impfondo να επισκέπτεται κάθε μήνα τη φυλή και να τελεί συντόμως την Θεία Ευχαριστία εντός αυτού προς διευκόλυνση των Πυγμαίων που αντιμετωπίζουν κινητικά προβλήματα.
Εκεί, ο Μητροπολίτης μίλησε απλά για την Σταύρωση και την Ανάσταση του Θεανθρώπου, ετέλεσε την Ακολουθία του Αγιασμού προς ευλογία του χώρου και των παρισταμένων αδελφών, ως και τρισάγιο για την συμπλήρωση δύο ετών από την κοίμηση του υπεραιωνοβίου ορθοδόξου αρχηγού της φυλής, πολυσεβάστου Papa Bokale, ενώ μετέφερε τις Πασχάλιες ευχές και την πατρική αγάπη του Μακ.Πάπα και Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ.Θεοδώρου Β’.
Της επισκέψεως στο τροπικό δάσος προηγήθηκε η τέλεση της Θείας Λειτουργίας και το κήρυγμα του θείου λόγου, το πρωί της Κυριακής του Θωμά, στον προς έτους εγκαινιασθέντα Ιερό Ενοριακό Ναό Τιμίου Προδρόμου και Αγ.Νικολάου.
Προ της περατώσεως της Ευχαριστιακής Συνάξεως ο Σεβασμιώτατος ευλόγησε την καμπάνα που για πρώτη φορά αποκτά ο Ναός, η οποία αποτελεί δωρεά ομάδος ευσεβών χριστιανών και προσέφερε μία νέα ιερατική στολή στον σεμνό π.Τιμόθεο, για την συμπλήρωση έτους από την εις Πρεσβύτερον χειροτονία του.
Ακολούθησε σύναξη των πιστών, κατά την οποία συζητήθησαν σημαντικά θέματα αφορώντα στην καλύτερη οργάνωση και την ανοδική πορεία της νεοφύτου Ενοριακής Κοινότητος.
Τέλος, το πρωί της 16ης Απριλίου ο Επίσκοπος ανεχώρησε αεροπορικώς προς Pointe Noire, διά της πρωτεύουσας Μπραζαβίλ."
