It was a historical visit to this humble chapel since no bishop has ever celebrated a liturgy before since the community started; more than 2 decades ago. Greek Independence Day and the Feast of the Annunciation of The Theotokos

For almost two centuries the celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation as Greek Orthodox Christians has been joined by the commemoration of the struggles for independence by our forbearers in Greece that began in March of 1821. These two observances have been and continue to be very important to us, for they represent a deep connection of our Church and our heri...tage, of faith and life, that offers a unique witness to the world.
The Feast of the Annunciation is also connected to our commemoration of Greek Independence Day not only because of the day of the 25th of March for both, but because each presents significant themes that connect our faith and our lives, as well as our identity as Greek Orthodox Christians with our Hellenic legacy and heritage. The struggle for independence by our fathers and mothers was born out of an affirmation of the right of every human being for free will and choice, a right granted by God. This combined with the desire for freedom and self-determination, inspired the people of Greece in 1821 to seek an end to centuries of oppression and to reclaim control of their lives and destiny. Further, these same people knew that their commitment to independence would require great sacrifice. However, this was a sacrifice, a willing offering of their lives, for the sake of justice, dignity, and freedom.

In Lusaka the Commemoration on 26th of March started with Divine Liturgy and doxology celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan of Zambia and Malawi Mr.Ioannis and involved the flag raising ceremony, laying of the wreaths and speeches by dignitaries at the monument of the unknown soldier.

Την Κυριακή 26η Μαρτίου 2017, η ΑΘΜ ο Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ.Θεόδωρος Β΄, με αφορμή την εορτή του Οσίου Ιωάννου «της Κλίμακος», επισκέφθηκε το Σιναϊτικό Μετόχι στο Κάϊρο, όπου χοροστάτησε κατά την Θεία Λειτουργία. Τον Μακαριώτατο συνόδευε ο Θεοφιλ. Επίσκοπος Βαβυλώνος κ.Θεόδωρος, Πατριαρχικός Επίτροπος Καΐρου.

Ο Αλεξανδρινός Προκαθήμενος στην ομιλία του αναφέρθηκε στον βίο, την πολιτεία και τα ασκητικά παλαίσματα του περίφημου Ηγουμένου του Σινά Οσίου Ιωάννου του Σιναΐτου, καθώς και στο βιβλίο του «Ουρανοδρόμος Κλίμαξ», με το οποίο μετέφερε διαχρονικά σε όλες τις γενεές, τα ασκητικά ιδεώδη της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας.

Στην συνέχεια, έκανε αναφορά στους ισχυρότατους αδελφικούς δεσμούς μεταξύ του παλαίφατου Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας και της περιωνύμου Μονής του Σινά, όπου αμφότεροι συνυπάρχουν αρμονικά στο κράτος της Αιγύπτου. Τόνισε δε, πως παλαιότερες διαφωνίες, οι οποίες κράτησαν πάνω από 600 χρόνια, με το λεγόμενο «Σιναϊτικό ζήτημα», έχουν πλέον εκλείψει με την καθοριστική συμβολή του μεγάλου Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας κυρού Μελετίου Μεταξάκη (1932), ο οποίος με την σύνεση που τον διέκρινε συνετέλεσε καθοριστικά στο να εξαλειφθούν οι θλιβερές αυτές σελίδες της εκκλησιαστικής ιστορίας.

Τέλος, ο Μακαριώτατος ζήτησε από τους εν Καϊρω Σιναΐτες πατέρες, να μεταφέρουν προς τον Καθηγούμενο της Ιεράς Μονής Αγίας Αικατερίνης Σινά, Σεβασμ. Αρχιεπίσκοπο Σιναίου κ.Δαμιανό και την Σιναϊτική Αδελφότητα, τις θερμότατες ευχές του για το υπόλοιπο της Μεγάλης Τεσσαρακοστής και το επί θύραις Άγιο Πάσχα.

Le 24 Mars 2017, Sa Grâce l’Évêque du Congo-Brazzaville et Gabon, Mgr. Panteleimon, a officié lors des Grandes Vêpres de la fête de l'Annonciation de la Sainte Vierge et de la Séquence de la quatrième Stance de l'Hymne Acathiste, dans l’église paroissiale Sainte Photinie, en construction, dans laquelle il a parlé sur la personne Très Vénérable de la Sainte Vierge Marie, comme modèle de l'amour sanctifiant et de l'affection maternelle.

Le lendemain, 25 Mars, Sa Grâce a célébré tôt le matin la Sainte Messe dans la Cathédrale temporaire Saint-Démétrius Pointe-Noire.

Στο 4ο μεγαλύτερο νησί του κόσμου, τη Μαδαγασκάρη, η Ορθόδοξη Ιεραποστολή επιτελεί ένα τιτάνιο έργο. Γιατί προσπαθεί να ανασύρει από την άγνοια ένα πάμπτωχο λαό, προσφέροντάς του φροντίδα, στοργή και κυρίως την σιγουριά πως τα πραγματοποιεί με πνεύμα αυτοθυσίας και αγάπης.
Επικεφαλής της Ιεραποστολής είναι ο Σεβασμιώτατος Μητροπολίτης Μαδαγασκάρης κ. Ιγνάτιος . Η Ιεραποστολή τελεί υπό την αιγίδα του Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας και αποτελεί μέρος του όλου Ιεραποστολικού έργου που αυτή την στιγμή διεξάγεται σε όλες της Αφρικανικές χώρες και προσωπικά του Πατριάρχου και Πάπα Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ. Θεοδώρου τ. Β΄ .

Ιερά Επισκοπή Μπραζαβίλ-Γκαμπόν

Στο πλαίσιο της διαρκούς ενισχύσεως και βελτιώσεως του ποιμαντικού έργου πραγματοποιήθηκε την Δευτέρα, 27η Μαρτίου 2017, στην έδρα της Ιεράς Επισκοπής Μπραζαβίλ και Γκαμπόν, πολύωρη σύσκεψη των Εφημερίων των τεσσάρων πολυπληθεστέρων Ενοριών της τοπικής Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας με τον Θεοφιλ.Επίσκοπο κ.Παντελεήμονα.
Οι ιερείς, Πρωτοπρεσβύτερος Μάξιμος Oumba, Γενικός Αρχιερατικός Επίτροπος και Εφημέριος του Ι.Καθεδρικού Ναού Αγίου Δημητρίου Pointe-Noire, Οικονόμος Σέργιος Mabelemo, ...Εφημέριος του Ι.Ναού Αναστάσεως Κυρίου Brazzaville, Πρεσβύτερος Λαυρέντιος Mpinga, Εφημέριος του Ι.Ναού Αναλήψεως του Κυρίου Pointe-Noire και Πρεσβύτερος Σιλουανός Nkounkou, Εφημέριος του Ι.Ναού Αγίας Φωτεινής Pointe-Noire, εξήτασαν αναλυτικά με τον Ποιμενάρχη τους τις δυνατότητες της εντονότερης ορθοδόξου παρουσίας και της συστηματικής ποιμαντικής διακονίας στα σωφρονιστικά καταστήματα και τα νοσηλευτικά ιδρύματα της πρωτεύουσας Μπραζαβίλ και της συμπρωτεύουσας Pointe-Noire του Κονγκό.

Ακόμη, συζητήθηκαν θέματα αφορώντα στην διαποίμανση των ορθοδόξων οικογενειών που διαβιούν στα δύο μεγάλα αστικά κέντρα της χώρας (Brazzaville και Pointe-Noire).
Τέλος, κάθε Εφημέριος παρέλαβε ενυπογράφως μία πλήρη σειρά καινούριων γαλλοφώνων λειτουργικών βιβλίων (Θεία Λειτουργία Ι.Χρυσοστόμου, Μ.Βασιλείου, Προηγιασμένων, Ευχολόγιο, Τριώδιο, Πεντηκοστάριο, Παρακλητική, Εγκόλπιο Αναγνώστου, Ωρολόγιο κλπ), καθώς και ποσότητα θυμιάματος.
Προσεχώς, ο Θεοφιλέστατος θα προσφέρει τα παραπάνω λειτουργικά βιβλία και στις υπόλοιπες Ενοριακές Κοινότητες της Ιεράς Επισκοπής, κατά τις επισκέψεις του σε αυτές.

On Sunday 26th March 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, on the occasion of the Feast of S John of the “Ladder”, visited the Sinai Dependency in Cairo, where he officiated at the Divine Liturgy. His Beatitude was accompanied by His Grace Theodoros, Bishop of Babylonos and Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo.

The Alexandrian Primate in his homily referred to the life, the times and the ascetic battles of the famous Abbot of Sinai, the Venerable John of Sinai, as well as to his book, the “Divine Ascent”, through which he conveyed over time to all generations the ascetic ideals of the Orthodox Church. He then went on to talk of the strong bonds between the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Monastery of Sinai, which both coexist harmoniously in Egypt. He emphasized that past disagreements, which lasted for over 600 years, with the so-called “Sinai Issue”, have now disappeared through the decisive contribution of the Great Meletios Metaxakis (1932) Patriarch of Alexandria, who with the prudence that defined him, contributed decisively to the elimination of these tragic pages of church history.

In conclusion, His Beatitude asked of the Sinai fathers in Cairo, to convey to the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St Catherine in Sinai, His Eminence Damianos, Archbishop of Sinai and to the Sinai Brotherhood, his warmest wishes and prayers for the remainder of Great Lent and Holy Pascha which is imminent.

On 24^th March  2017, His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, conducted the Great Vespers of the Feat of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the Service of the 4^th Stasis of the Akathist Hymn in the Holy Parish Church of St Fotini which is under construction in Pointe Noire, where he also spoke about the Most Venerable Figure of the Mother of God as an example of sanctifying love and maternal affection.

On the following day, 25^th March, early in the morning, His Grace conducted the Divine Liturgy in the temporary Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire.

Δ'Κυριακή των Νηστειών στην Ι.Μ. Κατάνγκας (ΦΩΤΟ)
